I remember I blogged about the fact that I missed playing Castle Wars, my favorite mini-game in RuneScape...
And heh, I was quite missing Castle Wars, my favorite mini-games from RuneScape, so I decided to Google "Castle Wars", looking for guides, blogposts, images or videos about that awesome game for some reminiscing. And guess what I found? An online flash game named "Castle Wars"! XDObviously, without saying much, one of the first things I just had to go and do after I got back my membership (of course, after completing a few quests here and there, as well as go Revenant-hunting with unable-to-jump-across-ditch Dave :P) was to play Castle Wars, hehheh. XP And I thought that since I might once again miss this mini-game after I left membership, why not take a bunch of screenshots so I can reminisce about it?
And that, is the origin of this blog post. Cheers, and enjoy. (:
This is the underground waiting room, where newly entered players wait for the next game (each game lasts twenty minutes, and there is an interval of five minutes between each game for players of the previous game to join again) so they can participate in it. Since it involves nothing but just standing there and wasting time, hoping the current game can end faster, we have a lot of people doing weird things in there. You can often find people chasing after (well, technically, "following" ^_^") those animals (you are transformed into an animal when you join the team of a God while wielding or wearing a piece of equipment belonging into another God, as punishment), following after each other and circling a pillar (this would only work if there are at least five people, lol, but most often, people would jump in and join the fun, so you can get a lot at once, haha), or even a group of people spamming the same kind of emote together! O_O
Yeah, it's a bit hectic in there, but heh, it's fun.
This is the respawn room, where everyone in the waiting room starts in when a new game starts, and also where you respawn in when you die, hence its name. The forcefields at the entrance/exit prevents opponents from entering, so those bloodthirsty, cruel and evil bastard can't just camp in the respawn room and repetitively kill you. :P
And in the respawn room is a table full of Bandages, which heal your Hitpoints by 10% of your maximum Hitpoints and 30% of your Energy. At the start of the game, you can often see players rushing to the table and filling their inventories with them, lol.
And this is the room where you get your items and equipments. The items they provided there can be used anywhere throughout the battlefield, though some only has very specific uses.
And this shows the compound of the holy castle of Lord Saradomin. :P We just dispatched an evil Zamorakian fiend who crawled his way into here, haha.
This is where archers and mages stand, ready to bombard arrows and spells upon invading enemies. It is rather vulnerable though, since both archers and mages have low defense, so a warrior can go in and finish them off. :P So for that reason, some warriors, upon noticing the presence of enemies there, will hurry up and rush to their teammates' aid.
And oh, there is a Catapult there as well, for low-leveled players who find themselves unable to deal damage to enemy forces in their own ways. I don't prefer the Catapult though, it is slow, difficult to use effectively, and is susceptible to friendly fire. Although the last problem can be solved by completing a certain quest, the other two has no solutions as of now lol.
It is not rare to see Saradominists ganging up on those pathetic Zamorakians in our part of the battlefield. After all, we didn't come to fight them. WE CAME TO SLAUGHTER THEM!
Following this is a collection of messy, chaotic battling throughout the battlefield. Enjoy.
And finally, I reached the enemy castle and started to wreck havoc and rampage there, lol.
That's it! Bye bye! (:
