Heh

Sorry about not blogging for 26 days. I know I'm a lazy bastard, but there are just too many things to do and too little time. At the middle of the holidays I was not only coping with one or two games, but four. Yup, that's right, four. In addition to RuneScape and Neopets, two games that I regularly play, I also got hooked back on MapleStory (especially with the birthday celebration) and Super Dancer Online, a really cool game similar to Dance Dance Revolution in arcades. MapleStory is too boring to continue staying being hooked though, so I kind of kick it out of the list. Also, I cut down on SDO for some more time at RS.

Near the end of the holidays, I was rushing for the A Maths project. You know, the one I told you guys earlier in this blog? It went good, but not really that great. I spotted one bug on the day of presentation, lol. Too bad we do not really have a long time to present though. There are some extremely funny scenes, but most of them are in the middle or end of the game. Also, it was very challenging for those without a calculator, especially at the ending. You try solving seven questions with the first one being 1234 x 987 in two minutes and thirty seconds. Don't blame me. Yoshida came up with those questions.

Sorry to those One Proness fans (aka Caleb). I'll post Part Two real soon.

P.S.: Shameless advertisement for my game, I know, but if anyone wants to try it out, just contact me or something. I can either give you the CD or send it to you through MSN. It's 28MB big. For those who cannot wait on MSN, you still have to wait though, I messed up and gave the CD to the Chinese teacher, whom I am supposed to give the CD with the Chinese project. Moral of the story: Mark the case to tell which is which.

Also, I'll appreciate it if anyone can comment on the game. It is the second RPG I have completed, the first one being the crappy Legend of Warriors I, which I am trying very hard to remake it, similar to Pokémon Fire Red being a remake of Pokémon Red. Any comments would help greatly in improving the game, especially since game designing is my dream.

Or maybe I should do the shameless advertisement on other's people blogs instead. XD

One Proness Sunday

ONE PRONESS

Wealth, fame, power
The man who has acquired everything in this world, the Self-Proclaimed Pro, Vernon.
The final words that were said before Dave killed him sent Samy to the seas.
"My wealth and my treasures?"
"If you want it, I'll let you have it."
"Look for it, I left all of it at that place!"
Samy now, chasing his dreams, heads towards the Grand Line.
The world now enters a Great Age of Proness!

Gathering together all our dreams.
We'll find the things that we're looking for.
ONE PRONESS!
Things like a compass are just a source of delay.
We'll heat it up and take the helm.
Even a dusty treasure map,
Is not a legend if it has been proven!
For a personal storm you just have to
ride on someone's biorhythm!
It's alright to think about it!
By gathering together all the dreams,
We'll find the things that we are looking for.
A pocket of coins,
and you wanna be my friend?
We are, We are on the cruise!
We are!

"Hmmm..." Caleb looked around. They were near the border of the forest, Samy and Yuchi sitting with him around a little fire.

"What's wrong, Caleb?" Yuchi asked. "Aren't you going to eat?"

"Yeah, this meat is delicious. Your cooking skills are really great, Caleb." Samy commented, taking another huge bite out of the drumstick he is cooking.

"Nah, I'm not hungry yet." Caleb replied.

"Where's Dave?" Yuchi stood up, looking around.

"Still attempting to destroy Vernon's blog." Samy replied. Caleb stood up as well, as he and Yuchi looked onwards. The exit of the forest is some barrens land, and a short distance away is a man, older than them, grabbing a huge blade and standing in front of some dust that was originally Vernon's blog.

"Wow! I think he managed to crush them to fine powder!" Caleb looked, while Yuchi jumped excitedly to get a better view.

"He won't be happy just doing that," Samy explained, tearing up another part of the meat with his teeth. "He would want to melt and boil them."

"Is it even possible?" asked Caleb with a concerned face, looking at Dave as he starts to conjure up a huge inferno.

"He always told me that 'With determination, a rod can become a needle'." Samy explained, throwing away the bone and approaching the fire for another.

"Hey, that's Dave's." Caleb stopped him.

"Damn, I'm still hungry." Samy complained, lying down.

"Hey, guys, left any food for me?" Dave asked as he approached.

"You finally melted that blasted cave?" Samy asked, grazing at the stars.

"No. A wind came and blew them away. Visibility is too low." Dave replied.

Yuchi looked at the direction where Vernon's blog originally was. Indeed, a barrier of sand was affecting visibility.

"What the? Just two drumsticks?" Dave asked as he sat down.

"Yeah, I'm still hungry." Samy complained.

"Well, you can go and help us get some food if you want!" Caleb replied angrily.

"Nah, I'm too beat. That fight with Vernon really took much of my energies. And to believe I couldn't get a single kill. You guys are such Kill Stealers." Samy said as he sat up.

"Wait..." Dave suddenly said as he stood up. "The wind... Everyone, cover your eyes!!"

"What, why?" Yuchi asked.

Out of the blue, a huge wind blow onwards from the direction where Vernon's blog used to be, blowing all the sand along with it.

"Thanks for making this sandstorm, Dave!!" Samy shouted.

"Shut up if you still want to see tomorrow's sunrise!!" Dave roared.

"We don't see sunrises! How about sunsets?" Yuchi screamed.

As sudden as the wind came, it stopped.

"Urgh!" Samy shouted as he broke free of the sand. "Everyone all right?"

"I'm fine." Yuchi said as he looked around. The fire became extinguished, and everyone was covered in sand by two feets.

"Damn it, why must you break that cave into sand?!" Caleb asked angrily as he got out.

"Look! Behind that dungeon... It's the sea!" Dave realized, pointing at the direction.

"Remember what we read at Vernon's blog?" Samy asked excitedly. "We are to search for the legendary treasure: One Proness! It's our destiny!"

"And that treasure is hidden beyond the ocean!!" Yuchi realized, jumping around.

"Let's set sail, on the ultimate voyage, to find it!!" Caleb folded his arms, looking impressively.

"But can we grab some food first? The sandstorm blew away my drumsticks." Dave said.

Everyone fainted, anime-styled.

The next day...

"Thanks for lending us your ship, Mark." Samy told his cousin.

"Nah, it's of no problem." Mark replied. "Say, where are you going?"

"We are going to find One Proness." Dave added.

"What? No way!" Mark was taken aback.

"Yes way! If anyone can find it, we can!" Samy looked confident.

"And where are you going to find it?" Mark asked.

"We'll set sail at the sea near Vernon's blog!" Samy replied.

"Northeast." Dave added.

"You guys are heading towards the Sevii Islands?" Mark asked.

"Sevil... Islands?" Samy asked.

"It is a chain of seven islands to the northeast, Samy. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it." Dave explained.

"Yeah. The island closest to us is One Island, so no doubt you will stop there first." Mark added.

"One Island. Sweet." Samy licked his lips. "I bet Yuchi and Caleb finished with moving the provisions into the ship. Let's go, Dave."

"Roger that." Dave replied as he followed Samy.

"Wait... Wait!" Mark suddenly shouted. Samy and Dave turned their heads.

"I'm going with you. An old friend of mine lives on Three Island. Since you guys are going that direction, I'll go with you to visit him." Mark said.

"You'll be leaving us when we reached Three Island, I suppose?" Dave asked.

"Yes." Mark nodded his head.

"Welcome to the party! Let's get to the dock!" Samy cheered, as the three warriors ran to the dock.

"Hey, there you are!" Caleb shouted out as he saw Samy approaching, standing at the deck of the ship.

"We finished loading the stuff. All waiting for you." Yuchi reported as he ran down the ship.

"Very good." Samy said, as he boarded the ship.

"Who is this?" Yuchi asked.

"He's Mark. My cousin and the owner of this ship." Dave answered as he followed Samy.

They quickly went to the deck.

"Now, let's set sail! To find One Proness!" Samy shouted, as everyone cheered loudly.

"Wait... Shouldn't we settle on who would be the Captain, the Navigator and the Cook?" Mark asked.

"I'll volunteer to be the cook! No one can cook better than me!" Caleb said proudly.

"I'll be the navigator then." Mark replied.

"Who will be the captain?" Samy asked.

"You." Both Dave and Yuchi replied.

"Now, Captain, where to?" Mark and Caleb asked.

"To One Island!" Samy shouted, as everyone cheered.

To Be Continued

Cao Cao Saturday

Cao Cao was a regional warlord and the last Chancellor of Eastern Han Dynasty who rose to great power during the last years of the dynasty in ancient China. As one of the central figures of the Three Kingdoms period, he laid down foundations for what was to become of the Kingdom of Wei and was thus titled Emperor Wu of Wei. Although generally characterized as a cruel and suspicious character in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Cao Cao was a brillant ruler, military strategist and poet.

Project Friday

Summary: Went to Vernon's house for an Additional Mathematics project with Yoshida and Alvin.

Woke up at 7.30am. Went to find some suitable clothes to wear, but my stupid freaking bloody mother decided to throw all the clothes that I wore outside out of the darn bloody window. Thank you, my dear mom, I love you. *rolls eyes* More like "I love to point a middle finger and send you to the depths of hell". (And if you think I am incorrect to say that, let's watch your reaction, face and hear what you say when your dear mother throws away all your FAVORITE (I still think that only making it capital, bold and underline doesn't simply do justice to my favorite clothes.) clothes. If you don't run to the kitchen, grab a chopper and a chopping board, you are either a very filial son who doesn't deserve to live in this world, your mother is so chio that you rather kill every single person in this world than her, or choppers are simply not your favored weapon and that you simply just went into the toilet for a broom and a mop.

After playing some short while of RuneScape, I went outside for breakfast at 8.30am, wearing my father's gigantic blue clothes with a darn collar and my pair of school long pants. So stylo milo. *rolls eyes*

Stylo milo: Stylish, fashionable

Went to Tampines Mart for breakfast, which is ironically two pieces of toast with kaya, two half-boiled eggs and a cup of coffee that has not enough condensed milk.

Kaya is a jam made from coconuts and eggs, favoured by the unique pandan leaf, and sweetened with sugar.

Took a bus to Tampines MRT Station. Was supposed to meet up with Yoshida there at 9.30am, but I arrived there at 9.05am, so I took a long walk around Tampines Central. Came back at 9.25am, and he was still not there yet. *rolls eyes* Luckily he arrived at 9.29am, he was talking about whoever is late shall do ten push-ups for every single second he is late for. XD We took the MRT to Pasir Ris MRT Station, where Vernon is supposed to come and fetch us to his house at 10pm. Since we arrived at 9.35am, we went to White Sands for a long walk, including walking (the escalators were not in operation so early -_-) up all the way to find the arcade being in renovation, then going down to Shop N Save to window-shop. ^_^"

In the end, Yoshida bought a bottle Jasmine Green Tea (which is sure to incur Vernon's wrath ^_^") while I bought a bottle of Coca-Cola. We went back to Pasir Ris MRT Station at 9.55am and waited around for Vernon. We finished our drinks at 10.05am (Vernon is late for 5 minutes... ), and continued waiting until 10.10am, where Yoshida finally got frustated and asked me to give Vernon a wake-up call.

So I called him, shouted "Bub! Wake-up call! Wake-up call!!!", and that bastard still had the nerve to ask loudly "WHAT?!" After Yoshida explained everything to the forgetful bub, he promised to come. Yoshida wanted to go to White Sands some more. I went with him. We were outside Comic Connection (it was not opened yet). I was admiring the sexiness of the controller of the Xbox 360, while Yoshida was admiring the beauty of the girls in the comic.

So we hanged around at some bench in the shopping mall, I listening to my MP3 player while he looked at the cleaner cleaning. Yoshida decided to wait until 10.30am before going to the MRT station, so we hanged around until that time. He was correct. Vernon was still not in the MRT station. So we waited, and he came at a while. I almost cannot recognize him, haha. XD Wearing our school's orientation T-shirt and having a hairstyle that reminds you of Shaolin monks, who can recognize him at first?

And we walked a long ten-minute walk from the MRT station to his house. The exciting journey included many obstacles, like "an attack from an army of umbrella people", "invisible backstabbing ninjas", "deep, long and flooded rivers that we have to cross", "tall, steep mountains with hazardous weathers" and "stupid security guards who think Vernon is a visitor of his own condos", we finally made it to his house, though exhausted and dirty with blood and mud, we are still happy that we made it. XD

So we started on the project. Did not really do much in the morning. We only finished the Player Characters and their skills. We were animating Alvin's Body Slam attack when Alvin called. Talk about the Chinese proverb: "Cao Cao arrives when you talk about him."

Speaking of Cao Cao, I have a rough idea what my next blog song will be. Just watch and see tomorrow. ;)

We took a bus to Pasir Ris MRT station and waited for Alvin for like five minutes before deciding to just go to McDonald's to have lunch. After Yoshida and I ordered, Yoshida decided to go to the MRT station to look for him. He came back late, with an Alvin wearing an old school PE (Physical Education) T-shirt and a long pair of school pants that does not make me feel embarrassed about wearing school pants. Vernon later came back with his food, and the three of us started eating. Vernon then received a SMS from his father asking him to buy newspaper and coca-cola. Still got add one "tq" at the end ("TQ" is supposed to mean "thank you". Don't ask why "ty" is not used.). Alvin joined us later.

Yoshida ate finished first (Meh, I was taking my own sweet time -_-). Not wanting to lose to teh slow eater (Vernon! :D), I activated "TURBO MODE!" (:D) and ate darn fast. Not surprisingly, I finished second. Yoshida and I decided to go to Comic Connection while Alvin and Vernon slowly eat their lunchs. As expected, Alvin came later, finishing faster than Vernon. Vernon came last, and we spent some time in the shop before deciding to leave. Vernon went to buy newspapers for his father, so the three of us instead went to the library. After walking around aimlessly, we went back to the MRT station and journeyed to Vernon's house, where an army of umbrella men waited in the mountain and river, laying ambush on us...

We arrived and finished the items, potions, weapons, armour and accessories. I must say, I did the most work. Second was Vernon, he did some typing when my hands grew tired. Third goes to Yoshida and Alvin, tied. They only gave ideas for the descriptions of the potions.

Then we finally went on to the programming itself. We spent a long time programming the introduction, where Vernon talks to the player about the game, introducing Yoshida and I meanwhile. Alvin, being late because he ate too much in McDonald's, came rushing up shouting "WAIT FOR ME!" and having too much inertia, banged into us. Stars erupted. The three of us jumped back. Then Vernon continued introducing the game to the player, until he reached the word "proness", when I ran away shouting "For goodness' sake!", Yoshida ran away shouting "(...What did he shout again? :P)." and Alvin ran away shouting "Oh my God! Not the "pro" speech again!!". Vernon replied "But I am a pro!", and the three of us ran into the screen off opposite directions screaming "Help me!" "The pro speech!" "Guards!". Vernon turned around and said "Hey, guys, come back.".

Samy: No thanks!!
Yoshida: Over my dead body!
Alvin: NEVER!!!

Vernon then cursed (don't worry, it has been censored :P), then said "Anyway, enjoy this pro game made by the pros!".

Around this time, we went to watch Numa Numa Dance to compared Yoshida with Gary Brolsma. I'll give it 80% similarity. ;)

We spent the whole evening programming the opening scene. It is in a hall in the castle, where in three thrones sit King Robert, Queen Victoria (Thanks to Justin, Vernon's brother, for the names) and Princess Jasmine. Three monsters came. Two killed the two guards with some magic (which I got scolded just because I made them shout out the names of the skills before they did the skills. Come on, it's like that in Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits too. -_-), then the third one came forward to kidnap Princess Jasmine. Her dog defended its owner, but a simple earth magic from the third monster sent the dog to meet its ancestor. Then the monster kidnapped Jasmine and fled. Vernon swore to rescue Jasmine at all cost, and that is how the game begins...

Still remember Vernon's father sending Vernon a SMS during lunch? My father did the same. But read on.

1st SMS: "You come home buy white"

Buy white what? o.O

2nd SMS: "You come home buy white break"

Vernon asked what does "white break" means. I'm glad I understand it actually means "white bread". -_- Or am I supposed to buy a brick and a can of white paint, throw the brick into the paint, fish it up and break his head with it? -_- And no thank you some more. -_- That reminds me. I forgot to demand him for money. -_-

As I left, Vernon said he is going to "renovate" his house. I won't be surprised if he ended up with a twenty-storey building as a stupid house while the rest of us only had one bed and a chair as a "house". No worries, I got a back-up copy!! :D

Carpentry Thursday

Last night at about 8pm, there was an update on MMORPG RuneScape. And guess what it is?

It is Constructing and POHs (Player Owned Houses)!! :D Devoted RuneScape players will remember that Jagex, the company that produced RuneScape, had promised POHs and a new skill, Carpentry, which is about making furniture for houses, since six years ago, when RuneScape was still RuneScape Classic. The idea was canceled, but players around the world continued to wait loyally for it. And finally, after six long years, it has finally arrived!!

Carpentry was renamed Constructing, because there are more than furnitures that you can build in your house. Other than the normal chairs, tables, benches, bookshelves, beds, drawers and what not, you can build ovens, sinks, rugs, clocks, workshops, games, displays, duelling arenas, teleportation portals, churchs, tablets, trees, plants, throne, dungeons, traps and treasure chests! But that's not all, you can hire servants to serve you and monsters to guard your treasure!!

Of course, the new skill was fun indeed. When I read the news, I was so excited about it that I quickly forgot about my current duty and goal (killing Chaos Druids for herbs so I can get Level 63 Herblore to brew Super Stat Restore Potions), throw my weapon and armour into the bank and run (I mean charge, no, I mean rush, no, I mean hurry, no, dash, no, blitz, no, haste, no, race, no, speed, no, surge, ok, ok, I teleported, happy? :P) to Varrock to buy myself a new house.

Like every other player just beginning Constructing, my house is on Rimmington. I quickly started work, building three chairs, a rug, two bookshelves, a fireplace and some curtains on my parlour, and also cleared the weeds and planted some plants and trees in my garden. After that was cleared, I set up a kitchen west of my parlour, building a table, larder, sink, shelf, stove, beer barrel (Peter, one of my friends, is an addicted alcoholic beer drinker. Wouldn't want him hitting people because of lack of alcohol, would we? :P) and a cat basket (although I don't have a cat o.O).

After the kitchen, I built a dining room north of the kitchen. With it, I built a dining table, two dining benches, decorate with some decorations, curtains and a fireplace, and ended with building a bell pull, which summons your servant. Strange, why would I want to build it? I don't have a servant yet. o.O

As a professional fletcher, crafter and blacksmith, I obviously needed a workshop in my house that suits my needs. Obviously I quickly built one, east of my dining room. With a workbench, several machines to make heraldic items, a repair bench, a whetstone, a crafting table and some tool stores. :D

Next, I started building a bedroom. As my servant would require one too if I were to hire one, I started building two bedrooms. My bedroom is east of the workshop, while my servant's bedroom is east of the parlour. Our bedrooms are adjacent and connected. I quickly built a bed using planks, nails and cloths, a wardrobe, a dresser, a fireplace, a clock and a rug. I also used some cloths to make curtains.

After the bedrooms, I built a Skill Hall north of the dining room. Its main purpose is for me to show off some of my skill achievements. :P Sadly, the requirements are quite high, so I can rarely get anything up for display. I am working on mounting a big bass and a basilisk head though. ;)

Next, I built a Games Room east of the Skill Hall. Due to my limited constructing ability, I was only able to make a hoop and stick game, an Elemental Balance game and a prize chest that gives a prize to whoever wins the games. :D

Then, I built a Combat Room north of the Skill Hall. I made a Boxing Ring and a Gloves Rack, as well as some decorations. :D

Next, I built a Quest Hall upstairs, above my Skill Hall. Its main purpose is for me to show off some of my questing achievements. :P Sadly, the requirements are quite high too, so I can rarely get anything up for display. I though had a portrait of King Arthur though. :D Working to mount a map of Misthalin, the sword Excalibur, an Amulet of Glory and a landscape of Lumbridge. :D

After my house was built, I started to invite people. Among some strangers whom I talked to in Rimmington, I also invited some friends, namely Peter, Stefan and Surfazinraw (whom kinda dislike people calling him by his real name ).

Peter hanged out at my kitchen and dining room most, refilling mugs after mugs of beer and knocking down my benches and tables. :P

Stefan was at my Skill and Quest Halls, looking at the empty walls as if they are full of display. :P

Surfazinraw went to the Games and Combat Room, ready to dominate.

Oh well, back to constructing. I still have to hunt Basilisks for its head.
