Sports Day LOL

Long post coming. A lot to blog about today. :P

Woke up at 5.45am this morning, lol. I hate it that the alarm of my handphone is so soft. The music player function is much louder, even though they use the same music file. Ate cereal for breakfast. Just a little bit and I'm full, lol. Went out at 6.20am, and bus came just when I reached the bus stop. Talk about perfect timing. Saw Wan Ling, a schoolmate and an ex-classmate, boarded the bus later too, yeah. Saw a lot of schoolmates at Tampines Bus Interchange and Tampines MRT Station too, lol.

Reached the MRT Station at 6.35am. Had to wait 25 minutes for Wei Sheng, we promised to meet up there at 7am and go together. Took out my earphones and listened to music on my handphone for a while, then I saw Yoshida coming at 6.45am (he told me in school he wanted to take an aeroplane -_-). I decided to take the MRT with him instead, lol. Sorry, Wei Sheng! :P

So we began our 54 minutes trip to Lakeside MRT Station. Yes, 54 minutes. From the east of Singapore all the way to the west. Ho say!!

Ho say: Hokkien exclamation denoting satisfaction, or enthusiastic endorsement.

At the platform of Tampines MRT Station, I saw Sean, a primary school schoolmate, lol. I called out his name and Yoshida thought I saw Mr. ex-President of Student Councillor, lol. Sean, wearing his Pasir Ris Secondary School uniform with pride and carrying a file containing a rather huge pile of worksheets, was on his usual, daily way to school, taking the MRT all the way to Bedok (alas, all he used to need to do was just to cross the road next to his house to get to school everyday. I blame the construction of the school and the building of the temporary school elsewhere). We chatted for a while and boarded the MRT when it came. Bloody hell, it was so squishy, I had to try to push myself into the train when the signal came that the doors were closing. XD

At each and every station the train stops in, more and more of my schoolmates board the train, lol, all wanting to reach their final destination. :O At Bedok MRT Station, Sean alighted. He ignored my "Bye!" and didn't reply back. So mean. T_T

For the majority of the 54 minutes, I was leaning on the glass wall at an entrance of the train, listening to my music player, Yoshida on the other side, lol. He put his bag on the floor behind him and went all "Suspicious article! Call 999!" XD

Also during the trip, a bunch of our schoolmates (dunno them) came and stood near us. Two were armed with PlayStation Portables, and the rest were all crowded around them, lol. So we now have people standing next to the entrance, crowding around the door with attentions on two PSPs. Let's pity people trying to get in, shall we?

After the long trip of boringness, we finally reached Lakeside MRT Station. Oh gosh, the station is packed full of people, especially students from Ngee Ann and Chung Cheng. There was a long line composed of students from the two particular schools, all the way from the MRT Station to a passenger pickup point quite a distance away. Of course, the adults there seem pissed off, a mass of students appearing out of nowhere and blocking their roads, rofl.

After waiting for like 10 minutes, Yoshida and I got bored and decided to walk to Jurong Stadium instead of taking the shutter bus, which students will pack and flood, and judging from the large number of students and the little number of buses, we have to wait quite long, indeed.

So we asked the teacher for directions. Don't really know the teacher much, just remembers he teached 3R3 History last year. So he told us to walk towards the traffic light, turn left and then walk straight for 3km. Easy, no? Here's a map of our journey.

Nine blue dots in the map. I'll elaborate on them.

We first went towards the direction the teacher pointed, stopping at the MRT Station to use the toilet, lol. I also took a newspaper from someone giving them out. Nmaa, it's gonna help me combat boredom later.

Second blue dot, there was yet another mass of students from my school, waiting for the slow buses. The teacher was scolding a few students there when we arrived. Didn't know what they did, but I predicted, from what Yoshida and I were going to do, and what the teacher said, that they wanted to try walking to the stadium as well, because of boredom, lol. So we walked past fearfully, believing the teacher will started scolding us as well. Luckily he ignored us or didn't see us, so we just continued on the journey!

At the third blue square, I showed Yoshida a video of We Live In Singapura, which our Social Studies teacher showed us yersterday. Ironically, he was only interested in the song, lol.

Had to cross a road at the forth blue square. Traffic lights was slow, so I decided to jaywalk, but Yoshida jayrun instead, lol, so I followed. :P

Long stretch to fifth blue square, where we stopped at a 7-Eleven, looking around but finally deciding not to buy anything.

Crossing the road at the sixth blue square, we wondered, "How the fuck are we supposed to continue going straight?"

Seventh blue square is a downhill grassy slope where we ran downwards towards the road. Unable to go 'straight' any more after crossing the road, we decided to head right and test our luck.

At eighth blue square, we decided that we were lost. Yoshida decided to take a photo of the canal to show to the teacher that we were lost in case we were late later, and I followed, lol. Too bad I deleted the photo just now. :P Walking past Hua Yi Sec, we saw students running out. Presuming that they were running for their 2.4km, we pity them that they have to climb up staircases after exiting the school compound. We even joked about stopping them to ask for directions rofl.

Walking all the way to the final blue square, we decided that we are just fucking lost and decided to take a taxi to Jurong Stadium, pfft.

While walking, we agreed that if a taxi approaches we'll take it, instead of waiting at one spot for it (we were both vulnerable to boringness lol). Finally a taxi came and we told the driver, "Jurong Stadium". Turns out there are two Jurong Stadiums, lol, one new and one old. The new one had a swimming pool, which the taxi driver thought we wanted to go there. We corrected him by replying that there is a mosque nearby, and he immediately knew which one we were talking about. So here's the map!

Boarding the taxi, Yoshida and I were theorizing on whether the direction the teacher gave us was correct. We suspected that, but had no proof. At the first blue dot marked in the map, I realized that we were walking that way previously, as I recognized the school (funny name, eh? :P). Indeed, the teacher gave us the wrong direction! Just look at the map. It is to walk straight, turn left at traffic light and walk 3km alright, but the bugger pointed at the wrong direction.

At the second blue dot, we went across fellow schoolmates, still waiting for the shuttle bus. Pity them. :P

So we reached the stadium at last. Thanks to Yoshida for paying the taxi fare of $4.60. My financial status at that time was, well, not at its best level. ^_^"

Found places to sit at the stadium and prepared ourselves for boredom. Ephraim and Vernon joined us a while later.

Let's have a look at the respective inventory of each of us and you'll know how we combat the boredom:

Samy
Water bottle
Manga (One Piece volume 44)
Handphone
Earphones [gives music when combined with handphone]
Packet of mentos
Newspaper
Umbrella

Vernon
Manga (Bleach volume 26)
100-Plus
Potato chips
Handphone
Earphones [gives music when combined with handphone]
Umbrella [though never used]

Ephraim
Handheld fan
Handphone
Earphones [gives music when combined with handphone]
Various packets of snacks
Some chewy sweets
Binoculars
Umbrella
Bottle of orange F&N

Yoshida
Umbrella
Handphone
[and other stuff I probably have no idea about. I don't sit beside him to know of his inventory that thoroughly ;)]

Well, generally speaking, the benches at the stadium for us to sit on was, well, shitty. Flakes of benches were dropping off, and sitting on them makes your pants terribly dirty, like the look of mud and a few splints of wood. Terrible, terrible.

The weather, too, was terrible. First we had a drizzle. Next, a warm sun. Then a drizzle. And then a terribly hot sun. Freaking hell, the weather went crazy. Disabled Vernon and mine option to read manga. It either gets wet due to rain, or we had to use one hand to hold the umbrella against the sun. The temperature was extremely hot at the later part too.

Was listening to music for the majority of the boring event, and SMSing Sakura (an ex-schoolmate) too, on the other side of the stadium, now that we are in different schools, lol.

We got the hell out of there at the first chance given, even before they announced the winners. Pfft, we don't need to know that information.

And so, our party of four members, all hating to wait, decided to hike ourselves to Boon Lay MRT Station instead of taking the choked shuttle bus!!

Started the journey with four party members, Ephraim, Yoshida, Vernon and I.

The first square was a shuttle bus waiting for students to get on, presumably taking them to a MRT Station. I wanted to board it, and told the other three to hurry before others choke it full, but turns out it's only for Chung Cheng High students. -_-

Second square is where the shuttle buses for our school are. And they are plain choked. With the combination of traffic jam, Yoshida pointed out that we were walking faster than the bus, and we all laughed out loud, looking at the poor students stuck in the bus liked sardines in a tin. Then the bus started to speed up as the traffic light goes green, and Yoshida started running to be as fast as the bus, and I joined in, lol. Oh, and by the way, I just realized, we stopped chasing the bus when it turned right at a junction. Thus, the location of the square on the map is wrong. -.- It should be somewhere to the east of the first square, and the first square should be in the car park labeled 'CP' (the P is covered by the red line denoting our route though). Forgetful Samy. :P

Third square, Yuhaimi joined the party, yay! :D I started telling the others how we'll blame Yuhaimi, the 'appointed navigator', if we get lost. *shifty eyes*

Asked Yuhaimi if he is stopping at the mosque across the road for his prayers at the forth square. Turns out he wanted to take the MRT back to wherever mosque he prays in. Works well for us.

Somewhere between the forth and fifth square, I told the other party members that we can see Lakeside Primary School, which means that Lakeside MRT Station is quite close. Ephraim saw it as a Lakeside Secondary School, lol. Visibility problems. :P

At the fifth square, we stopped, not knowing where to go. Fellow schoolmates from behind caught up with us, some wanting to head to Lakeside MRT Station, some wanting to head to Boon Lay MRT Station. The Lakeside ones turned right, and Yuhaimi followed, while the Boon Lay ones, including the four of us, headed straight. Yuhaimi left the party. :(

Walking along, we saw a carpark for taxis, apparently protected. The sign says 'Protected zone. Please keep clear' with a diagram of someone holding a rifle and another person raising two hands. Yoshida suggested going in and hijack a taxi (obviously a joke), and Ephraim pointed the sign at him. Vernon adds that Yoshida would not be the one holding the rifle. Yoshida asked why there would be rifles in a carpark in the first place. Saa, who knows?

Crossing the sungei, Yuhaimi, on the other side of the road, refered to a map. I asked him for directions, but before he answered, he gave us a bye and headed into the park connector. -_-

We continued on our journey, and at long last, sees the MRT track. We believed that left leads to Boon Lay MRT Station, and right leads to Lakeside. A group of schoolmates following us headed right. We headed left, then.

Upon reaching the sixth square, Yoshida started to run and dash ahead. He then disappeared behind a pillar supporting the MRT track while we walked slowly and leisurely. Turns out he was checking how much further we had to go, and OH MY GOD. I gave a loud "WHOOOHOOO! ...is all I have to say." when I saw the long route we had to go. XD

Was a long route. Ephraim took out his handphone and started listening to the radio, lol. It was so soft we can barely hear it. Yoshida was rushing, walking alone in front of us. I decided to join him, while Vernon and Ephraim listened to the news and walked behind slowly. At the final square was a bus stop, when a bus coincidentally comes just as we approaches the bus stop. We decided to take the bus to Boon Lay MRT Station if the bus goes there, and fortunately, it does! We boarded the bus. It was a long bus, and Vernon and I were sitting at the center of the bus, lol, while Ephraim and Yoshida sat in front. We stopped at Boon Lay Bus Interchange and walked through Boon Lay MRT Station to Jurong Point.

We went to KFC for lunch, but it was full and there were no empty seats, so we went to the third floor and check out Comic Connection. There were three (or is it four?) of our female classmates having their lunches in a nearby restaurant, lol.

Anyway, we exited later, and after having a look around, went down for lunch, hoping KFC would not be that crowded. We found five classmates along the way, three of them in home T-shirts. Lol, Alvin was wearing red, so I asked him if he became a red packet. :P

Long queue at KFC. Ephraim cut our queue lol.

I ordered a two-piece chicken meal, crispy, coleshaw change to whipped potato, pepsi change to medium. Vernon ordered a two-piece chicken meal, crispy, coleshaw change to whipped potato. Yoshida ordered zinger burger, large whipped potato and regular pepsi. Ephraim ordered fish burger, cheese fries and regular pepsi.

We sat down and started eating. Ephraim was so sad, his fish burger takes time, so he's just plainly eating his cheese fries. Yoshida ate damn fast. Vernon, as usual, started with side dish first rather than the main course. Ephraim's burger came. He took a bite, then just ate the piece of fish inside and threw away the rest of his burger and half of his cheese fries. Vernon also threw his chicken skin away. So bad, leave leftovers, Sanji's not going to be very happy. *shifty eyes*

Yoshida left immediately after he finished. Talk about anti-social. Ephraim left a while later, saying that his parents SMSed him to hurry up and get his ass home. Vernon and I then left a while later, when we finished.

It was raining already when we left Jurong Point. The two of us took an MRT and headed back to the east.

I finished my pepsi (from KFC one) aboard the MRT while waiting for it to depart Boon Lay MRT Station, so I exited the train and looked around for a bin, but cannot find one, so just put it beside a pillar. Sorry, no choice. :P

We sat down and I started listening to music on my handphone, while Vernon SMSed his friends. I showed him We Live In Singapura, and then he asked me to send it to him via Bluetooth lol. Then I showed him the audio clip of RK House No Pork, lol.

While showing him We Live In Singapura, we reached the part when in the MRT, everyone crowds near the entrance and no one stands in the middle:

And guess what, the situation in the MRT where we are travelling in is exactly the same!! Roflmao.

Near the end of the journey, two Muslims came in. One sat down beside me, and I immediately stood up, so the second one took my seat and sat beside Vernon. Vernon SMSed me (despite us being less than a metre away): "So kind ah... They also not needy" I replied: "No, It's just that I don't want to sit next to a malay. You should stand up too, honestly. By the way, why are we SMSing each other when we are just less than a metre away? 8-)" Lol.

They alighted before us and I took my seat back.

I alighted at Tampines, while Vernon proceeded to Pasir Ris.

End of post. Ta-dah!
