Don't forget your first impulse ever

Today's blog post will just be of games, manga, anime and my life in general, all randomly mixed up confusingly just like a dish of rojak. You have been warned. :)

Eh, very ironic leh

hw (Hong Wei) doing some hw (homework). o________________O

Watched Bleach episode 165, haha. Not bad, can't wait for the fight between a released Grimmjow and Ichigo with his vizard mask. :P

Ichigo hasn't been using his Zangetsu at Shikai for so long that I almost forgot how it looked like. :P

Unlike last time where he looked so ugly after donning his vizard mask against Dordonii, this time Ichigo actually looks rather cool with it, haha.

What does this have anything to do with me...?

o.O!

Kyaaaa! The volume cover and deluxe volume cover of Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE look sooooooooooo good!!! I want bigger scans of them!!! XD XD

I found that CLAMP always like to use black and white to contrast Syaoran and Clone Syaoran, haha, and it always seem to be white for Syaoran and black for Clone Syaoran.

Hmmm, I noticed that in two out of three of the manga series that both Syaoran and Sakura appear in (namely Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and xxxHolic), Syaoran seem to be always shouting Sakura's name.

Reminds me that I used to always follow Cerberus in calling Syaoran "小僧 (kozou; kid)"... XD

Wow, come to think of it, what a sharp contrast between a shoujo manga (like Cardcaptor Sakura) and a shounen manga (like Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE). In the aforementioned shoujo manga, Sakura merely falls off a cliff, and is rescued by Cerberus the next second. In the aforementioned shounen manga, holy... Being stabbed in the chest, blood spilling out, the hands of the murderer shaking in fear...

And come to think further of it, the three manga series that both Syaoran and Sakura appear in... One is a shoujo manga, one is a shounen manga, and one is a seinen manga! o.O!

It was seeing the huge "SAKURA" in the signboard for Sakura Restaurant at Downtown East that reminded me of Syaoran shouting, "SAKURA!!", just to note.

I got Wakka's fourth and final Overdrive, Aurochs Reel in a Blitzball Tournament, yay. :D Now I'm looking forward to finding the Jupiter Sigil as the first prize in the next league or tournament. Doesn't matter which, as long as it comes out soon, haha, though of course, preferably tournament. A tournament has only a maximum of three matches, lmao, compared to exhibition's long ten. Oh, and to note, I have played fifty-one Blitzball matches. Am I close to the Jupiter Sigil...?

Oh, and I read in the GameFAQs message board that the Jupiter Sigil would be a prize in the League as well. Oh well, guess I'll have to hurry up and be done with this current league I am on. I'm already at the last match of it, haha.

Finally, man, finally! I have finally obtained Auron's fourth and final Overdrive, Tornado, at long last! :D I was wondering how come after seemingly looking at all the spheres, I still didn't have Tornado, so I was stuck for a bit, not knowing which sphere I had actually missed out. Thanks to this video on YouTube, I finally realized which sphere I missed out (with the help of a video, it's rather really easy to find out which sphere you are missing out on, lol, since it's natural that the sphere you miss out will be easily spotted, as you've never see that footage yourself xD). It's the sphere at Moonflow, lol. Wonder how I know the contents even without looking at the sphere. o.O

Anyway, yay, Tornado!! :D Time to get Auto-Protect for my characters' armours, lol.

Hyuu, I got a new personal time record for Auron's third Overdrive, Banishing Blade! My personal best so far was 2.98, but I just managed to hit a 3.01! :D Yeah, just 3 centiseconds, haha, but better than nothing! ;D

Oh, and I found among my inventory of equipment, one Holy Ring for Yuna. Holy shit, it has four slots, one is Break HP Limit (which I read that is useless, since if you take the necessary precautions, all attacks that hit your entire party would not kill anyone with 9999HP), and the other, RIBBON!! O_____O

In case you don't get what is the big deal, Ribbon is an automatic, passive ability that grants you complete immunity to ALL STATUS EFFECTS!! O________O Yes, ALL!! Eh, wait, you are still vulnerable against Curse, Power Break, Armor Break, Magic Break and Mental Break. My bad. And well, to customize it into your equipment, you need NINETY-NINE DARK MATTERS. Yes, 99 of them.

It doesn't help much that Dark Matters are rare drops of tough bosses you get to fight in the Monster Arena. I heard that they only drop Dark Matters only once out of eight fights, and they only drop one each time (unless you succeed in an Overkill, in which they drop two). Well, you do get 99 of them as a reward for capturing five of every fiend in the Monster Arena, but you can only get that reward once, and I'm saving it up for the time I have completely zero Dark Matters in my inventory (since no matter how many you get, excess beyond 99 is automatically discarded T___T).

Oh, and of course, like almost every other item in the game, you can bribe monsters to give you Dark Matters. And you have to pay freaking one million and six hundred thousand Gil (1,600,000 Gil) for TWO measly Dark Matters. -.-

Shit. *curses for going so off-topic* Anyway, I found the Holy Ring. Must have got that when Vernon defeated Dark Valefor for me. I spent quite some time considering whether I want to continue using my Haste Ring (one Auto-Haste and three free slots), or use Holy Ring instead. Since I didn't want Break HP Limit, it would be wiser for me to use Haste Ring, and eventually customize Ribbon into it. But thinking that Ribbon causes 99 Dark Matters and would probably be such a huge pain in the ass to get, I thought that I should just bear with the Break HP Limit.

So that was what I thought, and I proceeded to sell my Haste Ring (got it for only around 150k... I spent around 500k bribing Macheas for Chocobo Wings to customize Auto-Haste into it ) for funds to bribe Machea again for more Chocobo Wings. Ran out of money and had to go on a trip to Omega Ruins to fight some Mimics (each drop 10k with the passive ability Gillionaire. I'm just unhappy they pop out so infrequently). Now you know why I would never bribe Land Worms for Dark Matters (I don't even have 360k for 60 Chocobo Wings, lmao, forget about 1.6M for two Dark Matters).

Fafnirs are rather easy to kill to get Light Curtains, haha. Just that I had to make a little trip to Mushroom Rock Road and catch some more Lamashtus to unlock them, lol. I formed some sort of strategy after my seven or so fights with Fafnirs (I need 70 Light Curtains for each Auto-Protect, so I need 280 in total. I started with 99, I remember I got Dark Matters once, and I remember Tidus dealt the finishing blow for the last fight, so no Overkill [Tidus can only hit 9999, since he doesn't have Break Damage Limit -_____-]).

I have a party of three: Tidus, Auron and Yuna. Auron and Yuna are for offense, since they are the ones with Celestial Weapons. Since Auron's Masamune is more powerful when Auron's HP is low, I had to keep Auron's HP at yellow (reminding me of Dharok in RuneScape. Since while wearing Dharok, you would deal more damage when you have less HP, people make their HP extremely low, then activate Prayer to protect themselves for further damage, lol). With Auron's HP at 3000 or less, I can hit 99,999 every time, making Auron the main offense in my team (Quick Hit, whoohooo!).

Yuna acts as the secondary damage dealer, since at that time, I haven't got enough Chocobo Wings to customize her Holy Ring yet, so she doesn't have Auto-Haste, thus being relatively slow. Doublecast and Flare ensures that she hits around 60,000 damage each turn, lol. I'd use Ultima, but I don't have any Level 4 Key Spheres in my inventory to get it. XD

And Tidus, I had to hold him back. His maximum damage output is only 9,999 (and only 9,999, since he has such a high Strength stat, lol. So, his Overdrive Slice&Dice would hit 59,994, and his Blitz Ace can hit 8,9991, but his Overdrive charges damn slow, so I'm not going to use him for offensive purposes as well), and his Agility stat is so high his turn kept popping up when he is unwanted, lol. =.= But luckily he knows Life and Curaga, so I can use him as a healer, haha (though rather sadly, he doesn't have Esuna, so I can't heal Auron's Poison with him after Yuna used Bio to lower Auron's HP and make his attacks stronger Can't blame anyone but myself for being lazy to go past NulBlaze, NulTide, NulShock and NulFrost -.-). Sometimes I Steal too, but it was sometime later that I realized I already had 99 Gold Hourglasses. -.- I also use Sentinel, haha, to prevent the other two from dying (Auron's at low HP, and Yuna only has around 5000 HP, and a weak Defense stat ).

Getting Auto-Phoenix is much easier. Just had to make a visit to Djose Highroad, capture two Simurghs, and along with unlocking Pteryx, I get 99 Mega Phoenixes. XD And I only need 60, lol (Yuna has no more space in her armour slots for Auto-Phoenix x_X).

Oh, and I thought I should have Auron have Break HP Limit instead of Ribbon. Two reasons. One, since Yuna has Break HP Limit, it'd be a waste to fill up the Sphere Grid with HP Spheres just for Yuna alone. Two, I'm lazy to get more Dark Matters. 99 is enough. (The other 99, as a reward for unlocking Ultima Buster, is practically free.)

So now here is my armour so far. Forgot their names, hehheh. XP

Tidus: Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect, Auto-Phoenix, (Ribbon)
Auron: Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect, Auto-Phoenix, (Break HP Limit)
Wakka: Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect, Auto-Phoenix, (Ribbon)
Yuna: Ribbon, Break HP Limit, Auto-Haste, Auto-Haste

And before I end today's blog post, let me share a lame joke. What's the favorite attack in Final Fantasy X of all JC students in Singapore?

Mug. XD

Mug is an attack that costs 10MP, and allows you to deal damage equal to a normal attack, and steal an item from the enemy at the same time.

"Mugging" is also a disparaging (which means "speaking of in a slighting or disrespectful way", "belittling" or "reducing in esteem or rank", by the way) term for "rote learning".

And some more additional information from Wikipedia:

Rote learning is a learning technique which avoids understanding of a subject and instead focuses on memorization. The major practice involved in rote learning is learning by repetition. The idea is that one will be able to quickly recall the meaning of the material the more one repeats it. Although it has been criticized by some schools of thought, rote learning is commonly used in the areas of mathematics, music, and religion.

In academics, cramming (also known as mugging) is the practice of working intensively to absorb large volumes of informational material in short amounts of time. It is often done by students in preparation for upcoming exams. Cramming is often discouraged by educators because the hurried coverage of material tends to result in poor retention. Cramming usually occurs during the revision week. The pressure to excel academically has led to cramming behavior among students as young as five years old.
